This is more than an arboretum, this is something quite special. A precious and unique location in the département which is the sanctuary to a number of century old trees dating back to the creation of the Mas Roussillon. Covering an area of 11 hectares, the arboretum is in an exceptional location overlooking the plain of Salanque and has been home for a number of years to a veritable conservatory of rare plants.
With its more than 500 plant species, this really is an educational collection, the jewel in the crown of a town that has it past steeped in agriculture, horticulture and fruit and wine growing.
As well as being an example of biodiversity, this location brimming with history, is also a place for school outings, for the family to come and enjoy the experience which is as good fun as it is enriching. Guided tours are also organised several times a year.
